The almost circular and winding ramp would be about a kilometer long and will be able to accommodate at least 200 models at any given time. About 500 media persons from all over the world are expected to arrive in Goa to report the event which will be attended by over 25,000 specially invited guests over the 4 days.

“The event aims to create a new World Record, breaking all existing and earlier records for the longest ramp as well as the longest continuous fashion show in the World,” said senior journalist-turned designer and publicist Flynn Remedios.

Many models walking the ramp to create this new World Record will be freshers and even office or college-going youngsters who will volunteer to be part of an historic event. About 50 per cent of the designers are student designers from different parts of India with several fashion designing institutes participating.

The FMN Fashion Pageant which was to be held two years ago and was postponed due to technical reasons will finally see the light of day this year. Over 50 dedicated photographers and 20 videographers working in shifts along with a crew of over 200 technicians, light men and others will record the event.

Says Rajesh Singh of the FMN Fashion Pageant, “We have written to the Guinness World Records (GWR) for details regarding the World’s longest or continuous fashion show. To the best of our knowledge, the longest fashion show record is for approximately 24 hours. We will attempt to break that record. And in case the GWR does not have such a record category, we will set a new record for the longest continuous fashion show. Our application forwarded in June this year is pending with the GWR and we are awaiting their feedback.”

The theme and focus is on Indian Traditional Outfits. The 95-odd designers will attempt to create and display designs and outfits including footwear, headgear and accessories from the 26 Indian states.
