Trident's online sales portal Trident, a prominent manufacturer of bedsheets, bathrobes, comforters (razai) and paper products in India, is offering a discount of 40% to all its shareholders on all items purchased from its website. To qualify for the 40% discount, the customers/shareholders have to add items worth Rs 5,000 to their cart, upon which they'll get a discount of Rs 2,000. Similarly, if they purchase items for Rs 10,000, they'll get a discount of Rs 4,000, which also happens to be the maximum discount they can get under the scheme. The company's website (mytrident.com) offers a range of items, including notebooks, printing paper, bedsheets, pillows, cushion covers etc.. Notebooks are priced at around Rs 55 each, and are sold by the dozen. Bedsheets start at a price of Rs 1,200, which translates to around Rs 720 after a 40% discount. Pillows are priced at Rs 750, which works out to Rs 450 after discount. Interestingly, the company also offers a Rs 1,000 discount on its website on all orders above Rs 5,000. The coupons, said Trident, work only on its website and have been sent to all registered shareholders via email, and have to be used before Jan 2. The company said the move is a "token of gratitude" towards its shareholders. Trident, with revenues in excess of $3 billion, manufactures yarn, bath linen and bedding items, as well as wheat straw-based paper products. It is one of the largest organized players in the home textile space in India. The company is a major supplier of white label products for major brands and retailers in India, and has manufacturing facilities in Punjab and Madhya Pradesh.
