Samsung Mega 2 launched in India, price Rs 20,900

Samsung Galaxy Mega 2 has been launched in India by the Korean company at a price of Rs 20,900.

The phone comes with a 6-inch, 720p display and 3G, but no LTE has been included. The launch comes two days after LG launched the LG F60, the cheapest phone with LTE in India, for Rs 15,000.

The Samsung Galaxy Mega 2 two has an 8 MP camera at the back, and a 5 MP one at the front.

The display is not AMOLED, and is made of normal TFT technology.

The Mega 2 also comes with a 2.8 Ah battery, Android KitKat, a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor and 1.5 GB of RAM.

“Galaxy Mega 2 is a great option for those looking for a Smartphone with a large display for optimal viewing experience,” Samsung said.

It will compete with the HTC 816G, priced at Rs 19,000, the Lumia 830 and the HTC Desire 820q (price Rs 22,500).

Despite being overpriced, Samsung could be banking on its brand fans to buy the phone. A phone with similar specifications from Indian brands would be priced in the Rs 11,000-range.
