Lenovo Vibe Z2 Pro K920 – price slashed to just 33k

It’s raining superphones (yes, smartphones are passe) this week and the latest is indeed the greatest. Lenovo Vibe Z2 Pro K920 can test the conviction of even the most faithful, including those holding out for the launch of the Note 4 in India.

Best of all, as of Oct 6, Flipkart has slashed the phone’s price to Rs 32,999 – making it the best value for money phone in the high-end market along with Lenovo’s own Moto X 2, priced at Rs 31,999.

International prices, excluding duties, taxes and subsidy, would be around $450.

Yes, this is also a week when the Sony Xperia Z3 is going to be launched, along with the slightly modest HTC Desire 820 and we will inch closer to Galaxy Note 4 lauch too. Yes, I know the LG G3 too has been trying to get you to commit for some time already.

But nothing, except perhaps the Note 4, can dare darken the Lenovo Vibe Z2 Pro’s door. Why?

Let us explain.

First is the sheer abundance. It’s not a 5-incher like the Sony Xperia Z3, nor even a 5.5 incher, like the LG G3. Darn, it’s even bigger than the 5.7-inch Galaxy Note 4 — it’s all of 6 glorious inches.

Of course any woman will tell you that size alone doesn’t count.

But it’s a beginning, a promise. Let’s see if the Lenovo K920 can actually live up to that promise.

If you’ve seen the Lenovo K9xx series, you’ll know what I’m talking about. The Lenovo K9xx series, starting from the K900, ooze power and class — not least because of their shiny, smooth and sleek and well-toned metal bodies. The brilliant and large screens instantly grab everyone’s attention when switched on.

The K920 maintains that tradition. It has a luxurious, full-metal design (unlike the plasticky appearance of Samsung phones) and it’s super slim at 7.7 mm. It’ appearance is very masculine, aggressive. It’s nobody’s pet and it doesn’t come with any curves. No, it’s not for men who think a curvy iPhone reflects their personalities. This for men who are not afraid to show their masculine side.

And yes, the big, 6-inch display also sends its own signals. After all, you need a big hand to hold one.

And no full HD displays. Yes, Xperia Z3, I’m talking to you.

This one’s quad-HD, with a brilliant 1440 x 2560 4-megapixel display to fully satisfy the yearnings of all those six inches. And no, there’s not dearth of juice either – underneath the hood is a 4,000 mAh battery worthy of a true man.

If you think the six-inch frame is little too bulky, think again. With 78% of the overall area taken up by the screen (yes, we’ve gone through a fitness program after the K900 was launched), there’re no overgrown bezels waiting to stretch your palms.

For those who fantasise about having it off with two at a time, the K920 shows how to do it in style, with support for two SIMs, includng LTE.

Yes, I know what you’re thinking. There must be something that’s not right. There exist no perfect smartphone.

But check out the basics – we’ve got the heart of a Snapdragon 801, a 5-megapixel front shooter and a 16-MP back camera, 32-GB of internal memory, 3 GB of RAM…

Don’t resist. You know you’re in love already! And you don’t have to wait for Mr Right Mr Note. Go ladies, for Mr Right Here, as the K920 swoops down on India next week to send a chill down rivals’ necks.
