Infosys Ltd said it has not made up its mind about its next CEO, and media speculation about the next leader being from outside the company was just that.
“The company’s search for its new Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director continues and no decision has been taken in this regard as of date. Any other reports or rumours are merely speculations at this point,” it said.
The exit of company president BG Srinivas had fueled speculation that a new CEO has already been chosen and that Srinivas had quit because he was overlooked.
Srinivas is Infosys’ highest-paid employee.
“Once the search is completed, the company will issue a formal notification on the new appointee,” it said.
Infosys has created a nominations committee to look for a new CEO. The committee is reported to have interviewed about 8 internal candidates for the post. A professional recruitment firm has been handed the mandate for finding external candidates.
