The National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM) will bring its prestigious NASSCOM Product Conclave (NPC Cochin 2014) to Kerala for the first time.

Product conclaves are designed to encourage Indian software product companies, and help them find partners and customers, while helping them network and find new ideas.

The conclave, which has been previously hosted by established software business hubs including Bangalore, Hyderabad and Pune, will be held in Kochi, underlining the emergence of this coastal city as one of India’s most promising IT destinations.

NPC Cochin 2014 will be held on May 30 at Hotel Le Meridien, Maradu, Kochi, and will bring together India’s technology leaders, emerging companies and start-ups under one roof, Nasscom said.

Kerala IT, under the Department of Information Technology, is one of the key sponsors of the annual meet, the primary objective of which is to create a platform for startups to share knowledge and get support for building their markets and secure funding.

Kerala is home to a large number of engineers, and is trying to emerge as a big hub after Bangalore and Hyderabad. TCS recently announced it will create the largest corporate learning center in Kerala.

“This is the right time for Kochi to host this remarkable event as the city is now viewed as a strategic hub of Indian product start-ups. It is a big opportunity for emerging companies in Kerala to find new avenues for growth both in terms of new business co-operations and funding,” said Infopark Chief Executive Officer Mr Hrishikesh Nair, who will be one of the keynote speakers at the event. “Kerala, as an emerging IT hub, will be able to attract more private investors to this fledgling industry through the event,” he added.

The meet is expected to see a turnout of over 150 delegates and a lineup of software developers, venture capitalists and emerging IT firms across the country.
