Royal Orchid announces 8 new hotel openings

Royal Orchid, which focuses on mid-sized hotels across India, announced the opening of 8 new hotels, its biggest batch of hotel inaugurations ever.

The company also announced that it will continue to expand fast, moving up from 64 hotels at present. “We are on a path to set up 100+ hotels across the length and breadth of our country,” said CMD Chander K Baljee.

The company plans to add another seven hotels before the end of September. It usually opens around 10-15 hotels a year.

The bunching up of hotel launches this time is the result of the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and associated lock-downs, which has kept the hospitality industry in a limbo for practically all of financial year 21.

“The addition of 8 new properties in the last quarter alone is a testament to the efforts we’ve been putting and the speed at which we have been working,” Baljee added.

“All these properties have been onboard after careful consideration of the respective hotels market potential and also to cater to the ever-evolving needs of our guests…I’m not just optimistic but certain that in the months and years to come, all these new properties will deliver results that will exceed our expectation,” he added.

The eight new hotels comprise three business hotels, three dual-purpose (business/leisure) hotels and two leisure hotels.

The three business hotels were opened in prominent business districts of cities like Bangalore and Noida, the company said, while the two leisure focused hotels were opened in Mashobra and Udaipur.

The remaining two hotels were opened in Panjim, Jaipur and Ajmer.

All have been opened under the Regenta Resort, Regenta Central and Regenta Inn brands.

The company said the non-leisure hotels are located in close proximity to the cities central business districts and transport hubs that are predicted to cater to ‘strong demand’ from industrial organisations and IT companies in the future.

“The new hotels launched in Bangalore, Noida, Goa, Jaipur and Ajmer will help fortify the group’s position as one of the leaders in the corporate business market,” it said.

Regenta Resort and SPA in Mashobra is the first property from the group in the tourist-intensive and high-demand area of Shimla and Mashobra.

“Nestled among fir trees and surrounded by mountains on all sides, the hotel offers an experience that is second to none. This resort further strengthens the group’s presence in the state, where we are currently operating another resort,” it said.

The second leisure hotel is located on the foothills of the Sajjan Garh Fort, Udaipur.

“The hotel features contemporary rooms and cottages which will serve business as well as leisure guests, while also providing contemporary banquet and open spaces for weddings and events,” the company said.
