Mid-size IT services firm Mindtree said it has appointed as Chief Operating Officer Dayapatra Nevatia, MD and Director of Delivery for Accenture’s Advanced Technology Centers in India.
Dayapatra leads the delivery for Accenture’s entire portfolio, spanning system integration, digital, application outsourcing, infrastructure, and security services across industry groups, Mindtree said.
“His vast industry experience along with proven track record will be a definite asset to Mindtree as we continue to stride on the journey of customer-centric growth,” said Debashis Chatterjee, CEO and MD, Mindtree.
He added that the appointment was part of the company’s ‘leadership expansion’ across the world.
The new COO will take charge immediately.
Mindtree is one of the smaller, more niche IT services companies in India.
It saw a massive churn in its top leadership recently after construction behemoth Larsen & Toubro group acquired a 60% stake in a rare hostile takeover.
Among those who stepped down soon after the hostile takeover in mid 2019 are Chief Executive Officer Rostow Ravanan, Chairman Krishnakumar Natarajan and Vice Chairman Parthasarathy NS.
L&T’s takeover of Mindtree was facilitated by the financial difficulties of VG Siddhartha, the founder of Cafe Coffee Day, who was forced to sell his 20% financial stake to L&T to pay off his own creditors.
