PVR Cinemas, India’s largest cinema chain by far, has opened a mega, 12-screen luxury multiplex at Vegas Mall, Dwarka, Delhi.
The property, termed as a company ‘flagship’, will take the total screens in Delhi to 62 from 50 and the total number of locations to 16.
The Vegas Mall PVR contains one IMAX screen, one 4 DX screen, two ultra-premium LUXE auditoriums, seven mainstream and one dedicated auditorium for children with “joyful arrangements” – PVR Playhouse.
The 70,000 sq. ft. property, spread across two floors, can seat 1,833 people.
The theatres are equipped with BARKO 4K projection, Dolby 7.1 surround system in nine auditoriums and Dolby Atmos in others. It has NextGen 3D UHD screens in six auditoriums.
“In addition to this, all the auditoriums have recliners installed, further enabling comfortable and luxurious movie viewing,” PVR said.
The menu is curated by celebrity Chef Sarah Todd and will include four new food and beverage concepts – Blends, Local, Wok and Grill, and Oven Fresh.
“In [the current] FY 19-20, we have been successful in reaching the 800-screen milestone and are now looking forward to expanding further,” said Gautam Dutta, CEO, PVR Cinemas.
“We are certain that the newest PVR Cinemas in Dwarka will be the next entertainment hub of the capital.”
PVR is the largest film exhibition company in India and has a total screen count of 821 screens at 172 properties in 70 cities, including 244 screens at 55 properties in Northern India.
This includes 4 screens of Director’s Cut, 37 screens of Gold Class, 9 of IMAX, 17 of 4DX, 8 of P[XL], 12 of Playhouse and 1 of PVR Onyx.
