Reliance Retail, which runs chains such as Reliance Digital and Jio Store, said it will offer 15% cashback on its full range of electronic goods as a part of its Diwali sale.
Electronic accessories, such as headphones, will also get an additional discount of 10%, taking the total benefit to 25%.
The offers are available at both Reliance Digital as well as smaller format stores such as Jio Store from Oct 25 through 31.
The cashback is available on televisions, home appliances, mobile phones, laptops and other goods, India’s largest retail chain said.
Reliance Retail is trying to tap into festival season sales on the heels of mega promotions by online retailers such as Flipkart and Amazon.
Contrary to expectations, Flipkart and Amazon have claimed that festival season sales this year have continued to show robust growth.
It was expected that sales growth will show a slow-down due to an overall slowdown in the economy.
However, some have speculated that financial difficulties may be prompting consumers to purchase their goods online, where discounts are generally much higher than in brick-and-mortar stores.
Reliance Digital is the largest electronics retailer in India with presence in over 6,700 cities with 370+ large format stores and over 7,700 Jio stores.
