Ducon Infratech in tie-up with Shapoorji Pallonji group’s Sterling & Wilson

Ducon Infratechnologies Ltd, which provides technology solutions in the industrial, infrastructure & digital, said that it has entered into strategic tie-up with Sterling & Wilson Private Limited, a flagship group company of Shapoorji Pallonji group, to jointly bid for large size flue gas desurlpherization tenders.

“The joint bidding exercise has significantly expanded our financing capabilities to bid successfully for large FGD projects which were earlier not biddable solely by them or us as an individual entity and has created a win—win situation for both the parties,” the company said, announcing the tie-up.

FGD refers to the process of removing sulphur and other pollutants from the gas discharges of factories, power plants etc. The sulfur is usually recovered as commercial grade concentrated sulfuric acid.

Sterling & Wilson Private Limited is a leading EPC company in the area of renewable energy, construction, and transmission & distribution.

The Shapoorji & Pallonji company has a legacy of 150 years and presence in India, the Middle East and Afiica.

DUCON, originally an IT solutions company, is expected to chip in with its higher technical expertise.

DUCON said companies are coming out with FGD tenders to conform to stricter emission norms.

“Considering the massive influx of FGD tenders, DUCON had decided to capitalize on the maximum FGD project opportunities by either sole bidding on smaller projects or joint bidding with another reputable EPC company on large FGD projects.

“With this strategy, DUCON is bidding on extensive number of FGD projects both small and medium size projects independently and large projects via joint bidding.”

It said it has already submitted some bids through the joint bidding and will continue to bid more projects with Sterling & Wilson.

“DUCON remains hopeful to win some of these projects as and when they are decided,” it added.

DUCON diversified into FGD systems, bulk material handling systems, and Electrification & infrastructure markets through a recently completed demerger.

The original IT business of the company deals with network & hardware solutions, marketing initiatives, distribution, volume procurement and end to end technical support.

In the recently acquired infrastructure business, the company offers execution of turnkey FGD systems for power & industrial boilers, bulk material handling systems and electrification projects across India and neighboring regions.
