SpiceJet announced 20 new domestic flights flights today, taking the total flights launched since April to over 90.
With this, SpiceJet has announced 106 new flights since April, including 73 that connect Mumbai, 16 connecting Delhi and 8 flights between Mumbai and Delhi.
The new flights are effective from the last week of May. 18 of the new flights are to, or from, Mumbai.
Other cities connected by these flights include Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram, Goa, Tirupati, Patna, Kolkata, Kanpur, Vijayawada and Hyderabad.
New frequencies are being added on sectors such as Mumbai-Goa (4th frequency), Mumbai-Hyderabad (6th frequency), Mumbai-Kochi (3rdfrequency), Mumbai-Kolkata (5th frequency), Mumbai-Kanpur (2nd frequency) and Mumbai-Patna (3rd frequency).
The airline has also announced an additional flight on the Kolkata-Patna route, which will be its second frequency on the route.
All the new flights introduced will be operational daily, except the flight on the Mumbai-Kolkata sector which will be operational all days of the week except Wednesday and Sunday, the company said.
The airline will deploy its Boeing 737 NG aircraft on all these routes.
With this, SpiceJet is estimated to have launched nearly twice as many flights as market leader Indigo to capitalize on the fall on Jet Airways, one of India’s oldest airlines, due to mounting financial losses.
