Airtel to offer CISCO solutions to enterprise customers

Bharti Airtel said it will offer solutions from US-based networking company CISCO to its enterprise and SMB customers.

Two solutions — Software-Defined Wide Area Network (SD-WAN) and Cisco-Webex conferencing solution — will be offered.

Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.

The software-defined Wide Area Network solution will provide customers with “a clear view of data flows across their networks and enable them to optimize data traffic to suit their business needs,” Airtel said.

Software defined networking refers to the practice of deploying a network in which the traffic controllers, such as switches and routers, can be manipulated from a central location, thus making it possible to control the entire network without having to physically manipulate switches and other equipment.

It will help bring down capex and lower migration issues during the transition of applications and data to the Cloud, it added.

Airtel will also offer the Cisco-Webex conferencing platform.

“India, which is the fastest growing major economy in the world, is seeing strong growth in demand for next-generation connectivity solutions.

As businesses tap digitization for enhanced agility and growth, this partnership will leverage Airtel’s deep customer relationships and network to offer highly secure and cutting-edge digitization technology from Cisco in India,” the telco said.

Airtel says it counts as customers over 1000 global enterprises, 2000 large and 500,000 medium/small businesses.

Besides traditional telecom services, Airtel also provides network integration, cybersecurity, IoT, cloud, data centers, managed services, enterprise mobility applications and digital media to enterprises.
