IMT Ghaziabad students win Rs 70 lakh in PepsiCo sustainability contest

The students won the award for their plastic waste management machine

Two students from IMT Ghaziabad won nearly Rs 70 lakh at in a sustainability-themed contest organized by PepsiCo.

Tushar Vishnoi and Utkarsh Garg won $100,000 for their low-cost, plastic waste management machine that can process 50 kg of plastic waste per day.

The plastic recovered in the process can be used in numerous applications that can bring in new revenue streams and savings, Pepsico said.

The PepsiCo ‘Change the Game’ challenge  provided students with a platform to share creative solutions to ‘real-life’ problem situations, along with a chance to work with the company.

Around 11,000 students from top B-schools in India came up with ingenious ideas in order to present solutions for sustainability and to make the world a better place .

The winners Tushar Vishnoi and Utkarsh Garg also got an offer to the international food and beverage company as management trainees.
