Mahindra First Choice Services, the servicing arm of Mahindra & Mahindra, said it has agreed to acquire the assets of bankrupt auto-service chain Carnation Auto (India).
The company did not disclose the exact number of service centers that will accrue through the deal, but said the acquisition will “add significantly” to its current network of 330 workshops.
In addition, it will also get the Carnation brand and website. Financial details were not disclosed.
The transaction will help the company increase its penetration in metro cities, especially in Delhi, the NCR and Mumbai, Mahindra First Choice Services said.
“This strategic acquisition will strengthen Mahindra First Choice Services’ business and its leadership position in the Indian automotive aftermarket industry,” said Rajeev Dubey, who heads the after-market sector for the automobile company.
First Choice India’s largest chain of multi-brand car workshops with over 330 car workshops, present in 250+ towns across 25 states.
The company aims to establish a country wide network of over 1000 workshops.
It has also entered the business of private label spare parts for all brands of cars under the MFC’ brand name.
Carnation is currently under liquidation, and the deal is strictly for the assets without any liability, the company said.
