JSW Steel Ltd reported an 8% jump in its crude steel production for August to 14.48 lakh tons.
Crude steel refers to the first state of produced steel, and can be processed by the company into other products or sold to third parties.
In the month of August, output of long rolled products, such as wire, rod, rail, and bars, also jumped 10% to 3.05 lakh tons at JSW Steel.
Flat rolled products, such as plates, slaps and coils, saw no change in output during the month.
JSW Steel has a total production capacity of 18 million tons per year in India.
Its plant at Vijayanagar in Karnataka is the largest single location steel producing facility in the country with a capacity of 12 MTPA.
The company is part of the $13 billion JSW Group, which has a presence in Steel, Energy, Infrastructure, Cement, Ventures and Sports.
