Wipro announces deals from Nokia, LATAM Cargo

Indian IT outsourcing company Wipro said telecom equipment maker Nokia had moved to the sales order platform designed and operated by it as part of a multi-year outsourcing deal.

The company also said it was bringing Latin American cargo company to LATAM Cargo on to its supply a cargo management platform.

The size of the deal was not disclosed.

Wipro said LATAM Cargo will be moved to its pre-existing Cargo Reservations, Operations, Accounting and Management Information System or CROAMIS.

“CROAMIS automates the end-to-end air cargo processes from cargo capacity planning, sales, revenue management, cargo ground handling operations, warehouse management, freighter and charters, customer services, cargo revenue accounting, billing and claims.

“Once implemented, CROAMIS will offer LATAM Cargo’s customers the convenience of a new tracking system, next generation self-service tools such as e-booking, e-claims, e-rates and a system in line with the highest industry standards,” it said.

NOKIA DEAL

As for Nokia, Wipro said it is helping the client design, digitalize and run its order management from multiple global centers.

“Wipro will be applying robotics process automation (RPA) to enable a hyper-automated supply chain, which will be lean, agile and have the flexibility to meet the customer’s current business challenges as well as keep pace with their future requirements,” it said.

Based in Finland, Nokia supplies telecom network equipment to service providers.

With the emergence of 5G and Internet-of-Things business, said Wipro, Nokia wants to transform its supply chain and sales order management processes.

“Wipro will be leveraging cognitive algorithms and bots to automate the sales order management processes, reduce cycle time, handle the sales volume fluctuations and monitor operations in real time, thereby increasing accuracy and compliance in all transactions,” the Indian company said.

The size of the deal was not disclosed.

This is not the first time the two companies are working together.

Besides direct deals, the two have also been working together extensively while managing telecom networks of large operators in India.
