Larsen & Toubro said it received three new construction orders worth Rs 2,210 cr.
Two out of the three, worth Rs 2,044 cr, were in the area of water and effluent treatment, while the remaining one was for constructing a dam across the river Runj in Uttar Pradesh.
Among the deals was “a major turnkey order” from Narmada Valley Development Authority (NVDA), Government of Madhya Pradesh, for the execution of Narmada-Kshipra multipurpose project to lift 15 cubic meters of water per second from the Omkareshwar reservoir.
Out of this, 10 cumecs of the water will be used to irrigate 30,000 hectares of farm land, while the remaining 5 cumecs of water will be supplied for domestic & industrial purposes in the Dewas, Ujjain & Shajapur districts, it added.
The scope of works includes survey, design, procurement, construction & installation of pumping systems, rising mains, transmission and distribution pipeline networks, outlet management systems, electrical power transmission lines and automation systems, it added.
This is a repeat order from NVDA, it said.
The second order was for the execution of an Integrated Effluent Treatment Plant (IETP) at Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited’s Visakh refinery as part of the ongoing modernisation project at Vishakhapatnam.
“The project covers all modern technologies related to oil removal from refinery effluent, which includes SBR based treatment of 1000 m3/hr refinery effluent, MBR based sewage treatment system, Wet Air Oxidation based spent caustic treatment system and Volatile Organic Compound control system,” the construction major said.
The scope of work includes basic and detailed engineering, procurement & supply, construction, erection, installation, testing, commissioning of the plant, which will cater to the future requirements of existing projects and replace all existing treatment plants of the Visakh refinery, it added.
