India’s largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki unveiled a new look for Vitara Brezza, one of the most successful cars in its history.
The company also announced that it is selling around 12,300 units per month, making it the most popular SUV in India.
“The exterior and interior features have been given a makeover, enhancing the bold and sporty character,” the company said.
Among the new visual changes are alloy wheels in glossy black finish. The front chrome grille and back door chrome garnish have been made standard across all variants.
The interiors have been refreshed with an all-black colour scheme.
The model has helped Maruti Suzuki break out of its image as the maker of small cars, while also providing an option for people who don’t want to let go of the affordability and availability of Maruti Suzuki when going for an SUV.
“Vitara Brezza has been a game changer for India’s SUV market,” said the company’s marketing head R S Kalsi. “We have enhanced its allure to meet aspirations of our young customers”
The company has also started offering the ‘auto gear shift’ feature, which, it said, has been fine-tuned for the model.
The Vitara Brezza facelift with auto gear-shift will cost around Rs 8.54 lakh, ex-showroom, in Delhi for the starting model VDi.
Kalsi also said that making the auto gear-shift technology available on the model should broaden its appeal.
“Sales of AGS variants in the Maruti Suzuki portfolio have tripled in three years. By making this technology available on Vitara Brezza, together with a refreshed design, we expect India’s number one SUV to become even more attractive,” he added.
The company has also added a range of safety features as standard across all variants, including SOFIX child restraint system, high speed warning alert, dual air bags, ABS with EBD, reverse parking sensors and front seat belt pre-tensioners and force limiters.
