Hero MotoCorp has launched online shop for consumers to buy genuine parts and accessories for their Hero scooters and motorbikes.
The portal, www.hgpmart.com, will be run by the company directly.
However, it will tap close to 100 distributors in a ‘hub and spoke’ model for fulfillment.
Consumers can buy any part by following a step-by-step process involving the selection of the model, the part category and finally, the part itself.
The world’s largest two-wheeler maker has tied up with e-commerce logistics company Delhivery to deliver parts across India.
Getting the right parts for automobiles can be challenging, especially for people in smaller towns and villages.
Many retailers simply stop stocking parts of older models or models that have sold only in fewer numbers, forcing customers to make a trip to their district headquarters or a nearby city to buy important parts.
Hero MotoCorp had earlier partnered with Snapdeal, through which the company sold over 500,000 two-wheelers, in just over a calendar year.
