SpiceJet shifts 22 Delhi flights to Terminal 2

SpiceJet, which had initially refused to shift its Delhi airport operations from Terminal 1 to Terminal 2, said it will shift 22 flights to T2 from 25 March.

These are the flights to Cochin, Ahmedabad, Patna, Pune, Goa, Surat, and Gorakhpur.

It said all the flights to and from T2 will have flight numbers starting with number ‘8’.

Spicejet said the remaining domestic flights will continue to operate from Terminal 1.

There will be arrangements for regular bus service between the terminals for passengers for use by transit flyers as well as those who might come to the wrong terminal.

All communication mediums have been activated to keep the passengers traveling from T2 informed about the change of terminal, it added.

“SpiceJet has taken all possible measures to ensure smooth and seamless operations and minimal inconvenience to its customers,” it said.

SpiceJet, GoAir and IndiGo were asked to shift some of their options from Terminal 1, or the domestic terminal, to Terminal 2, which used to be called the international terminal.

GoAir shifted its flights towards the end of October, but the other two refused, citing passenger inconvenience.

Last month, the Delhi High Court had dismissed the airlines’ pleas against the order to shift their services.
