Larsen & Toubro said it was awarded a Rs 928-cr contract by a government agency to construct 13,314 flats under the Prime Minister Awas Yojana Scheme.
The flats, which will take the shape of 284 towers with four floors each, will be constructed in various locations of Krishna District of Andhra Pradesh, it added.
“The scope of works include design & construction of civil structure, architecture and MEP works,” India’s largest construction company said.
Separately, the company also received a ₹338 cr contract from Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation.
The project involves the design and construction of the traction & power supply works for Mumbai Metro Line 3 that goes from Colaba to SEEPZ via Bandra.
Line 3 will be built completely underground under the direct supervision of Mumbai Metro Railway Corporation Limited (MMRCL).
“This order has been secured against stiff competition from other major multinational companies,” L&T said.
Mumbai Metro is one of the largest civil construction projects in the country.
