Construction giant Larsen & Toubro said it has won a Rs 1,483 cr contract from oil and gas producer ONGC to create offshore platforms, pipelines and other works in its Bassein field offshore Mumbai.
“The project includes three new wellhead platforms, 23 kilometer Subsea pipeline, composite Subsea power cable, clamp-on works on an existing platform and modification work on nine existing platforms in the Western offshore basin in India,” L&T said.
The work will be completed by May 2019.
The project is called “Bassein Development 3 Well Platform 8 Pipeline Project” and is part of ONGC’s strategy to develop three small and marginal fields — B-147, BSE-11 and NBP-E.
The order was won against international competitive bidding and was awarded on an Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Installation and Commissioning basis.
“This contract reiterates the long-term association of L&T with ONGC in the development of offshore fields in India,” L&T said.
