Eicher Motors said it sold 69,492 Royal Enfield Bullet motorcycles in October 2017, up 18% compared to the same month last year.
However, the number represented a slight decline in the pace at which the company’s sales have been growing this year.
For example, from April to October this year, total number of Royal Enfield Bullets sold by the company was up 22% at 4.56 lakh.
On a positive note, the large-sized (above 350 cc) models came back to growth in October.
Out of the 69,492 sold, 4,283 had engine capacities of more than 350. This represented a growth of 9% compared to October last year.
Larger bikes have not been having a great year. Despite the uptick in October, the total number of larger models sold from April to October is still down 20% at just 29,948 compared to 37,633 sold in the same period of 2016.
Out of the 69,492 bikes sold in October, 1,478 were sold outside India. Last year, the number was 748 for the same month.
