SpiceJet, which has been expanding its network fast in recent months, today launched its daily direct flight services from Thiruvananthapuram to Male.
The service will also be used to carry passengers from the Bangalore airport to Male via Thiruvananthapuram, the capital of Kerala state.
The airline said the route offers the “least connecting time” for flyers from the IT capital to the island nation.
The daily flight SG 93 will leave Trivandrum at 12:25 at noon and arrive in Male at 13:25 local time. The duration of the flight will be around 90 minutes.
The return flight will be at 2:10 PM, to reach Kerala at 16:05 PM.
SpiceJet will use a Bombardier Q400 on the route.
Besides Male, SpiceJet also offers connectivity to six other international destinations among – Dubai, Bangkok, Colombo, Kabul, Dhaka, and Muscat.
The company has been expanding its services aggressively after its ownership passed back into the hands of a team headed by founder Ajay Singh three years ago.
Singh had divested ownership in favor of Chennai-based Sun Group, but the airline ran into financial rough weather soon after.
