Meizu M3 Note open sale coming up

Meizu and Amazon India have announced that the M3 Note — priced Rs 9,999 — will be made available via an open sale next time.

The announcement came after the two conducted the second flash sale for the phone — arguably the most value-for-money in its class.

The Meizu M3 Note comes with 32 GB of storage memory and 3 GB of RAM at just Rs 9,999, making it the cheapest such phone in the country.

The only major drawback of the phone is its rather mediocre processor, the Helio P10 MT6755.

Being an MT675x series chip, the processor offers only average performance — especially in single-threaded application.

Though it scores as high as the Snapdragon 650 chipset inside the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 in multi-core mode, the MT6755 is about 35% less powerful in single-threaded performance. Though some apps like Google Chrome are multi-threaded, many continue to be single threaded.

Other than this, the Meizu M3 Note is as good, if not better than, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 and Le 1s. It is certainly more value for money compared to the Yu Yunicorn, which offers practically the same specifications (except for 4 GB of RAM) for Rs 12,999.

However, depending on the price that will be announced for the LeEco Le 2 tomorrow, the phone could see further competition from the upcoming LeEco model as well.

The Le 2 is widely expected to be priced at Rs 12,999. If it’s priced cheaper, it will threaten not only the M3 Note, but also the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3.
