After remaining offline for three days, Reliance Communications’ official e-store shop.rcom.co.in, is back online after a big makeover.
On a day when the company also launched a webpage for upgrading its USB data dongle customers to 4G, RCom has thrown open its new official ecommerce website with spanking new 4G handsets and devices.
All the previous CDMA and EVDO smartphones have been removed and their places have been given 4G smartphones.
The shop.rcom.co.in website is now divided into five sections, two of which do not work yet.
The three sections which do work are 4G smartphones, Wipods and Fixed Wireless Phones, while the sections that don’t work are Accessories and Tariff Plans.
In the Fixed Wireless Phone and Wipod sections, there are only one device each. In the former, RCom is offering a Newtel GSM landphone priced at Rs 1,899, and in the Wipods (USB dongle) segment, it is offering a 4G dongle priced at Rs 2,699.
As we’ve already explained, the new WiPod device comes with Cat 4 LTE and can support up to 32 users. It will work on all three bands on which Reliance Jio and Reliance Communications intend to launch 4G.
More details of the device can be had here.
In the smartphone segment, RCom is offering several model starting from the Honor Holly 2 Plus, which is selling for Rs 6,769 on shop.rcom.co.in compared to Rs 8,499 on Flipkart.
In fact, there are couple of phones that support all three wireless standards — GSM, LTE and CDMA, including the BLEU WI-208, priced at Rs 9,990.
The Tariff section has not yet been populated with data, and as such we do not what the new 4G tariff plans for RCom are going to be like. However, as we reported earlier, the existing CDMA data plans — especially the ones that give unlimited data — are going to be removed and more conservative plans are likely to be offered in their place.
