The new Samsung Galaxy S6 Plus Edge that will be launched in a couple of hours from now will come with a 5.7 inch display, and not a 5.5-inch one as expected, making it 7.5% bigger than that of the iPhone 6 Plus.
This has raised speculation that the next iteration of the Galaxy Note, also to be revealed in a couple of hours, will have an even bigger screen — or about 6 inches in size.
So far, the expectation has been that the Note will come with a 5.7 inch screen and the S6 Plus Edge will sport a 5.5 inch panel.
The would be by far the biggest phone Samsung has ever made, and would mark yet another step in the arms race towards bigger and bigger display.
It would also call in question the exact utility of having such humongous displays in the first place.
Interestingly, in a survey conducted by us, people were not that averse to big displays as was previously thought. Though the sample size was pitiably small, the highest number of votes obtained in ‘which your favorite screen size’ survey was 6 inches.
The sample was restricted to people who were curious about the Samsung Galaxy S6+ Edge and Note 5, which would have influenced the results for sure.
Samsung is all set to unveil its latest Galaxies in just a couple of hours (8:30 pm India time).

The Korean company has not revealed which Galaxy phone it would be revealing so far.
