Online seller Flipkart said it has crossed 150 mln (15 cr) product listings on its website and said that 75% of its traffic is now coming via mobile.
We have “witnessed a 150% growth in the number of products sold as compared to 2014. From introducing new categories/products to innovative last mile delivery options, the Indian ecommerce giant has been continuously working towards creating a seamless shopping experience for every Indian shopper,” the firm said.
It said it now offers “30 million products across 70+ different categories” and 45 million registered users clocking over 10 million daily visits.
India has a total of around 300 mln Internet users.
Not surprisingly, Bangalore is the top city in terms of traffic, followed by New Delhi, Chennai, Pune, Coimbatore, and Ahmedabad.
Flipkart blocks users who try to access its website from a browser and redirects them to download its app. It is not clear whether this entire 75% traffic is excluded this redirected traffic or purely traffic from the app.
Total number of sellers on Flipkart has crossed 30,000, it added. It has a target of reaching one lakh sellers by the end of 2015.
“The way India shop has undergone a fast-paced and continuous evolution, and we clearly foresee e-commerce apps emerging as being the preferred shopping route,” it said.
