The LG G4 Stylus, the cheaper-yet-bigger avatar of the flagship, is now available in India at Rs 23,000 in select stores in Delhi.
The phone is retailing for Rs 24,000 on Snapdeal.
The G4 Stylus has also been listed on Amazon India, though it is currently shown as out of stock and no price is indicated.
DEJA VU
LG has followed the same script as it did 9 months back when it launched the LG G3 Stylus. The G3 version was priced at Rs 21,500, but the price soon fell very sharply over the next 3-4 months, before stabilizing at the current level of Rs 15,000.
And it looks like the G4 Stylus is also going in the same direction. With an initial market price of around 23,000, the phone may not attract value-conscious buyers given its modesst specifications. However, it could start moving some units once the price falls to the Rs 15,000 range in the next three months or so.
The biggest disappointment with the phone is display resolution, which a poor 258 dots per inch. To put this in perspective, the Lenovo A7000 – which also has a more powerful processor compared to the G4 Stylus – comes with a pixel density of 267 dots per inch and is priced at almost one-third the price of the Stylus.
Of course, LG has never really targeted the value-conscious buyer in India, and LG’s displays tend to be far better than the ones you can find on entry-level models like the A7000.
But still, the phone will make sense at around Rs 16,000, no more.
Other specifications of the phone include a Snapdragon 410 chipset, 16 GB of memory, 1 GB of RAM and a 13 MP camera at the back and a 5 MP one at the front.
