Panasonic India today added a new smartphone to its Eluga series – The Eluga Z; which is likely to appeal to those who like AMOLED displays.
The highlight of the phone, priced at Rs 13,490, is the 5-inch HD, Oncell AMOLED display.
“The HD AMOLED Display presents crystal clear color representation without saturation and the Oncell capacitive touch technology gives smooth operating experience,” said Panasonic.
As such, this phone will compete with the Micromax Canvas Knight 2 and the new HTC One E9s, both of which come with HD AMOLED displays.
The Micromax model is available at around Rs 14,900, while the HTC One E9s will be available at around Rs 22,000 soon.
The Eluga Z also has an all-metal design, which gives the phone a premium look. The phone features a “complex CNC-based metal grinding technique giving it a Blade like Metallic finish and solid strength, according to the company.” The back-side of the phone is fabric-textured.
The device sports a unique Fabric Texture Back cover featuring a 6.8mm Sleek design and weighs only 120 gm despite being made of metal.
The handset comes with a (MediaTek?) octa-core processor, 2GB RAM & 16 GB internal memory.
In addition, the smartphone comes with a 13 MP rear camera with LED flash and 1080p video recording capabilities and a 5 MP front camera. Battery is a 2050mAh Lithium Polymer unit.
ELUGA Z has support for Indian Regional Languages, USB OTG Support for accessing media through Pen-drive or Hard-Drive, Turn-by-turn Navigation for location access, Wi-Fi Direct & Bluetooth 4.0 EDR for sharing media.
The Software capabilities in the new device feature single-hand operative FitHome interface along with various gesture based functions like Double Tap to Lock and Unlock, Smart Swipe functionality where in a combination of number of fingers & direction of swipe can help user perform various predefined functions.
