YU, the online-focused brand from a Micromax founder, said it will hold a special sale of its Yuphoria phone for selected customers guaranteeing availability.
“The exclusive sale will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 between 2pm-5pm on Amazon.in and will provide a privilege to the fans as they are guaranteed to get the YUPHORIA smartphone. The privileged fans will receive an email from Amazon which will direct them to this sale through an exclusive link for participation,” it said.
The Yu Yuphoria (price Rs 7k), Coolpad Dazen 1 (price Rs 6k) and Lenovo A6000 Plus (Rs 7k) are the most value for money smartphones in India, and come with 5-inch, HD displays and LTE.
After seeing scorching sales initially, Yuphoria is now seeing a slight easing off as competition increased due to the entry of Coolpad, which is selling its phone at a cheaper rate.
Yu, however, said demand continues to be strong for Yuphoria.
“YUPHORIA, the Miracle in Metal, has shattered all the records previously and has received more than 5,00,000 registrations for its first flash sale on Amazon.in.”
The device has a metal ring, an updated Cyanogen OS 12 , 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor, 2GB RAM and more. The usual sale is held every Thursday at 2pm.
The special sale is especially for the eager YU YUPHORIA fans who had earlier registered for the sale but could not buy YUPHORIA in multiple attempts, and no new registration will be allowed for the special sale.
“The amplified response of the YU fans, yet again reinforces the infinite trust bestowed by them for the smartphone. Sporting a 5-inch HD IPS display, the device comes with optimal resolution designed to bring users the best in class viewing experience,” the company said.
“With an 8MP rear camera, pictures come alive and perfect selfies are a piece of cake with the 5MP front camera making it the best companion for the photo enthusiasts.”
Unlike Micromax, which has to keep traditional resellers in good humor, Yu is an online-only brand. As a result, Yu is free to keep the price of its phone very low. On the other hand, Micromax has to keep its pricing slightly higher to account for distributor and retailer margins.
