Magicbricks, one of the players fighting it out in the highly competitive online real estate classifieds business, said it had implemented a full-fledged map search feature on its website.
Map search, in which users can visually search for apartment complexes and photo-view are the two features that helped disruptive start-up housing.com to corner a large share of the market for online real estate classified.
Though initially incumbent players ignored the technology, over past few months, nearly every competitor has implemented similar map-based visual search mechanism. Housing.com shot into the headlines after several venture capitalists saw the potential of the website that was launched by a group of fresh graduates.
“The new user-friendly feature has been thoughtfully designed with smart features and analysis tools to help customers take the right decision speedily,” Magicbricks said.
Allowing users to identify their perfect home in a single map-centric page, the Map Search Feature offers a wide range of options, including ‘Search Properties on Map’, making it a one-stop solution for property search, project search and location details for research.
Through this, each project and their available units are geographically tagged for accurate project mapping.
“Single screen permits visual representation of locations, projects and properties. Landmark Search searches properties around the place of choice. Draw your own map allows users to draw their own map and search for properties in the drawn area,” it said.
