Logitech, one of the World’s biggest computer peripherals brand, has introduced a USB-powered speaker priced at Rs 625.
The speaker is one of the, if not the, first speaker to not require a separate power source and to work purely from the power derived from a computer’s USB port. All USB ports give off a current of around 5 volts and are used for such charging purposes, besides transferring data.
USB is increasingly becoming the power source of choice for small devices such as mobile phone and media players.
The speaker, however, will require a separate cord to connect it with the audio source — such as headphone socket.
“The Logitech Stereo Speaker Z110 connects to any audio source that uses a 3.5 mm plug, such as the headphone jack on your MP3 player, making it easy to enjoy your favorite music, videos and more from almost any source,” Logitech said.
Founded in 1981, Logitech International is a Swiss public company and is known for its higher quality.
