Amazon India is offering discounts under its ‘lighting’ schemes that are just too good to pass by.
Among those on offer are Nokia Lumia 638 LTE phone at just Rs 5,999, which makes it the cheapest LTE 4G phone in India, and a Rs 8,000 discount on the BlackBerry Passport that has brought down the phone’s price to about Rs 42,000.
In addition, Amazon India is also offering the Lenovo A5000, a quad-core, HD tablet at just around Rs 7,300.
In fact, perhaps due to the heavy traffic, the website remain unresponsive for as of Saturday evening, when the deals were still available.
The original price of Nokia Lumia 638 is Rs 8,300, while that of the BlackBerry Passport in India is Rs 50,000.
Even though competitor Flipkart offers discounts under its Big Billion Day once a year, Amazon has been offering discounts under its ‘lighting deal’ scheme off and on since Diwali.
Most of the discounts are on hard-to-move items.
Though the Nokia Lumia 638 was the cheapest LTE phone in India when it was launched, it was soon overshadowed by the Lenvo A6000, which was priced at just Rs 6,999 and had better features, as well as by the Yu Yureka, a far superior phone priced at just Rs 8,999. The Nokia Lumia 638 comes with a low resolution display that is a major point of weakness when compared with its rivals.
The BlackBerry Passport appeals largely to fans of the Canadian brand, and is considered very highly priced at Rs 50,000.
The news of the deals is likely to be welcome news for gadget fans, many of whom have been dealing with the unexpectedly high price tag on the Xiaomi Mi4 phone announced earlier this week.
