Coca Cola Foundation awards $26.2 mln in H1 2015

cokeThe Coca Cola Foundation awarded $26.2 million to 74 community organizations in the first half of 2015, the organization said.

These grants which have been awarded focusing on The Coca-Cola Company’s core sustainability priorities women, water and well-being will benefit more than 90 million people across 76 countries.

The Coca-Cola Foundation is the global philanthropic arm of The Coca-Cola Company. Since its inception in 1984, the Foundation has awarded more than $750 million USD in grants to support sustainable community initiatives around the world.

“As a global company operating in more than 200 countries, Coca-Cola is part of a large and diverse community and we are proud to support the well-being of the communities where we live and work,” said Lisa M. Borders, Chair, The Coca-Cola Foundation and Vice President, Global Community Affairs.

She added,”By working with local organizations, we are helping to find solutions to the global challenges we collectively face.”

Out of this total grant awarded by foundation,$2.3 million USD was awarded to support women’s empowerment initiatives,$9.3 million USD to support water and environmental initiatives,$12.2 million USD to support well-being initiatives which also includes active healthy living, education, youth development and HIV/AIDS,and $2 .3 million USD to support of other community improvement programs, including $1 million USD for disaster relief efforts.
