Cords Cable approved as provider to Indian Railways

India’s largest instrumentation cable maker Cords Cable Industries Ltd said it has won an approval that will qualify it to supply cables to Indian Railways and other railway projects such as metro rail and dedicated freight corridors.

The company said it received an approval as a vendor for various projects for the Indian Railways from the Ministry of Railways organisation, Research Design and Standards Organisation (RDSO).

Cords Cable Industries added that the approval will help it explore vast opportunities provided by various developmental and upgradation projects of Railways and new Metro projects throughout the country.

The Research Designs & Standards Organisation functions as a technical adviser and consultant to the Railway Board, the Zonal Railways, the Railway Production Units, engineering firms RITES and IRCON International in respect of design and standardisation of railway equipment and problems related to railway construction, operation and maintenance.

Cords Cable Industries on Tuesday said it received an approval as a vendor for government works in Punjab. The company has also got approvals from the Airports Authority of India (AAI), Samsung Engineering Co. and Abu Dhabi National Oil Company.

Headquartered in New Delhi, Cords Cable Industries manufactures instrumentation cables, control cables, thermocouple cables, power cables and special cables for electrical connectivity requirements, mainly for industrial use. It caters to industries such as electric power, steel, cement, fertilizers and chemicals and refinery/petroleum.
