Infrastructure major Larsen and Toubro (L&T) said its construction business has received orders worth over Rs 2,500 crore across various Indian states including Delhi, Gujarat, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra.
L&T secured an order from the Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Ltd for the design, procurement, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of ballastless track on the mainline from BKC station to Cuffe Parade for Mumbai Metro Line 3 project.
Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MMRC) is the nodal agency responsible for implementing the Mumbai Metro Line-3 (MML-3) project – a 33.5 km long corridor between Colaba-Bandra-SEEPZ.
The project, funded by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), will be L&T’s first project using Low Vibration Track technology like the one adopted for the line in the tunnel running under the English Channel connecting England and France.
The scope of work includes design, supply of fastening systems for the entire Line-3, supply and installation of Low Vibration Ballastless tracks, testing and commissioning of ballastless tracks on the mainline from BKC station to Cuffe Parade station. The project will be completed in 30 months, L&T said.
It also bagged an Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) order from the Delhi Jal Board for the design, construction, installation, operations and maintenance of a 477- million litres per day (MLD) water treatment plant and a 105 million litre clear water reservoir and a pump house for the Chandrawal command area.
The project is a part of the Delhi Water Supply Improvement project (DWSIP) and is funded by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
The company also secured an EPC order from the Rajkot Smart City Limited for the design, construction, testing, commissioning, operations and maintenance of infrastructure works for roads, drains, culverts, bridges, water supply, sewerage, street lighting and utility duct in the smart city area in Rajkot, Gujarat.
The residential business of Buildings and Factories arm of L&T received order from a major developer in Bengaluru for the construction of a residential complex with a total built up area of 5 million sq. feet.
It also secured another order from a leading data centre developer for the construction of a TIER 3 data centre at Sipcot-Siruseri, Chennai. The project will be completed within 16 months, L&T said.
The factories business also bagged two orders from Andhra Pradesh and Pune. In Andhra Pradesh, it received an order from a leading cement manufacturer for the construction of a cement plant in Kurnool. In Pune, it secured an order from a vehicle manufacturing major for the development of a manufacturing facility in the city.
The business and factories arm of L&T is involved in the construction of airports, hospitals, stadiums, residential buildings, IT parks and offices and factory structures and cement plants.
The transportation business of L&T secured an engineering, procurement and construction order from the Delhi Aviation Fuel Facility Limited (DAFFL) for the execution of fuel hydrant system development works at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi. The project includes design, engineering, procurement, supply, erection, installation, testing, commissioning, construction and completion of the T1 hydrant system works including 15 km of pipelines with associated hydrant pits and valves.
The Power Transmission and Distribution Business of L&T Construction bagged an order for the design, engineering, procurement, erection, testing and commissioning of a 80MW Solar Photovoltaic Power Plant in Uttar Pradesh.
It also secured an order from the Middle East for a voltage upgradation project.
