PVR Pictures, the production arm of India’s largest cinema chain, said it will distribute films from Anil Ambani-promoted Reliance Entertainment.
Both companies will collaborate for the first time to distribute Reliance Entertainment’s upcoming film Game Over, releasing on June 14. This will be followed by the Hrithik Roshan starrer Super 30, which will release on July 12.
Established in 1994, Reliance Entertainment is engaged in the creation and distribution of content across film, television, digital and gaming platforms.
Headquartered in Mumbai, the company has produced, distributed and released more than 300 films in multiple Indian languages including Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Bengali.
Reliance Entertainment collaborated with Academy Award-winning director and producer Steven Spielberg to form film production companies- DreamWorks Studios and Amblin Partners.
“The collaboration will not only benefit our existing partnerships, but will be extended to other independent filmmakers and production houses to exploit their films to fullest theatrical potential”, said Shibasish Sarkar, Group CEO, Reliance Entertainment.
Headquartered in Gurugram, PVR Pictures is the largest studio for the distribution of Independent Hollywood films in India. It has distributed nearly 500 Hollywood films, 200 Bollywood films and more than 100 regional movies since 2002.
