Steel and energy company Jindal Steel and Power Ltd reported its highest ever domestic quarterly steel production and sales in the fourth quarter of financial year 2018-19.
The company registered crude steel production of 1.51 million tonnes during the January-March quarter of 2019, an increase of 23% from the 1.26 million tonnes produced in the same quarter last year.
Jindal also recorded crude steel sales of 1.45 million tonnes in the current quarter, a growth of 21% from the 1.18 million tonnes produced in the January-March quarter of 2018.
The company attributed the increase to the recently commissioned 3.25 million tons per year furnace at its 6 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) integrated steel plant at Angul, Odisha.
