Media content house Shemaroo Entertainment said it acquired a 50% stake in media and entertainment firm Dominiche Productions Private Ltd.
Incorporated in October 2017, Dominiche Productions first launched their Astrovani segment on Airtel DTH and following its success, they launched the same in Dish TV, Videocon D2H, Amazon firestick, NDTV App and Jio TV.
The acquisition worth Rs 9 crores, will help Shemaroo to strengthen its position in the astrology segment, Shemaroo said. It had a turnover of Rs 1.91 crores as of March 2019.
Headquartered in Mumbai, Dominiche Productions is one of the leaders in the devotional and regional content, Shemaroo said.
Established in 1962 as a book circulating library, Shemaroo, today is an established integrated media content house in India with activities across content acquisition, value addition to content and content distribution.
