IT firm Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) said that it has deployed core banking software TCS BaNCS at National Bank of Bahrain (NBB).
BaNCS is TCS’ main product for banks, and offers various solutions for core banking, internet banking, treasury, wealth management, mobile banking and insurance.
BaNCS will standardise and streamline NBB’s operations across multiple countries, including its home market of Bahrain, UAE and Saudi Arabia, TCS said.
The software will offer solutions like customer management, loans, deposits, payments, origination, Islamic banking and liquidity management for retail and corporate banking.
“This will modernize our IT landscape, lay a strong foundation for digitalization and offer a consistent and contextual experience to our customers”, said Iain Blacklaw, Chief Operating Officer, NBB.
On April 2, TCS had reported it has deployed TCS BaNCS at China-headquartered commercial bank Harbin.
Headquartered in Mumbai, TCS is part of India’s largest conglomerate Tata Group, and is currently the world’s second largest IT services provider.
It operates in more than 46 countries and offers consulting services in various areas like IT, business and technology and engineering.
It is India’s largest private sector employer, and has nearly 3 lakh employees in India.
Established in 1957 as the first indigenous bank of Bahrain, National Bank of Bahrain today has a nationwide network of 25 branches, 61 ATMs and over 4,000 points of sale terminals in addition to their branches at Abu Dhabi and Riyadh.
