L&T bags power transmission orders worth over Rs 2,500 crore

Infrastructure major Larsen and Toubro (L&T) on Tuesday said that its power transmission and distribution business has received orders worth over Rs 2,500 crore from India, the Middle East and the ASEAN region.

In India, the company received orders for laying underground cable in certain unnamed industrial areas and towns to improve the reliability of power supply. L&T also received orders for constructing solar powered irrigation systems.

The firm also said it received orders from certain countries of the Middle East and the ASEAN region for the construction of substations and transmission lines.

Yesterday, Larsen and Toubro had reported new orders worth orders worth over Rs 2,500 crore from Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) for the construction of a new export strategic pipeline and its associated facilities that will span a distance of around 145 kilometres.

L&T, headquartered in Mumbai is one among the largest multinational firms and construction company in the country today with operations in more than 30 countries worldwide.
