Work starts on Sungam-Ramanathapuram flyover in Coimbatore

Construction major KNR constructions said it has received an order from Tamil Nadu government worth Rs 223 crore for the construction of flyovers at the Sungam-Ramanathapuram junction in Coimbatore.

The project will be completed within 24 months, the company said in a statement.

The construction of the 30 feet wide and 3.6 kilometre long flyover received government’s nod in January earlier this year.

After completion, the flyover will reduce the traffic congestion on the Trichy road as more than 70% of the vehicles towards Singanallur and beyond would use the flyover. The travel time is also expected to be reduced by at least 10 minutes.

KNR constructions offers engineering, procurement and construction services across various sectors including roads and highways, irrigation and urban water management.

Incorporated in 1995, KNR has completed various projects across various states including Arunachal Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
