Kaveri Seeds sets up Asia’s largest corn cob drying facility in Telangana

Kaveri Seeds, one of India’s largest seed firms, has set up a new corn cob drying facility, touted to be Asia’s largest, at Molangur village in Karimnagar district of Telangana.

The new facility has a capacity of 1,456 tonnes per cycle and can process around 400 tonnes of fresh corn cobs per day to transform them into seeds.

The new facility costs arounds Rs 20 crore and is spread around 15 acres of land, the seed manufacturer said.

“We are extremely happy to launch this first of its kind, world class corn cob drying facility in Telangana which will help increase germination and vigor and also the shelf life of seeds thereby helping us to manage the inventory better,” said GV Bhaskar Rao, Chairman and MD, Kaveri Seeds.
