IT firm Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) on Monday said that it has been selected by offshore drilling company Seadrill to transform its digital infrastructure.
According to the new deal, TCS will support Seadrill’s global lT operations on its its mobile offshore drilling rigs as well as its onshore locations, and will provide local support services in the UK, US, Canada, Brazil, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, UAE and Thailand.
Speaking on the new partnership, Eelco Ringeling, CEO, Seadrill said, “Their approach to leveraging key digital technologies such as ignio, and their MFDM framework, positioned them above the competition and aligns well to our overall long-term strategic digital transformation roadmap, drives continuous improvement and assists us to meet our business goals”.
MFMD or Machine-First Delivery Model software developed by TCS uses automation and artificial intelligence (Al) technologies to reduce operating risk, improve speed-to market, increase productivity and deliver business value.
A key feature of this technology is the ignio AlOps software, which enables smarter and faster decision making, with first-time-right identification of probable causes of outages in a matter of minutes.
