SMPL Infra receives orders worth Rs 883 crore

Infrastructure firm SMPL Infra Ltd said it received four new orders for water supply and irrigation projects worth Rs 883 crore from Gujarat, Manipur and Punjab.

In Gujarat, it received an order worth Rs 723 crore for the implementation of Phase 3 of the Saurashtra-Narmada Avtaran Irrigation Project or SAUNI Yojana.

The project initiated by the Gujarat government envisages to divert one million acre feet water to 115 reservoirs through 1115 kilometer pipeline network to irrigate 1.8 million hectare of land and provide drinking water facility to 39 million people. It is spread across 132 towns and 11,456 villages in Gujarat to address the scarcity of drinking water in Saurashtra, Kutch and North Gujarat regions.

The firm also received another order for the construction of water distribution network and 24*7 domestic water supply along with sewerage management system and storm water drainage network for Ludhiana Smart City. The project inked via joint venture with Shristi Infrastructure Development is worth around Rs 103 crores.

In Manipur it received two orders-one from Senapati district worth Rs 33 crore and other from Churachandpur district worth Rs 22 crore for the augmentation of water supply system for the promotion of tourism under the North East Special Infrastructure Development Scheme.

The company said the financials from the new orders should start reflecting in its books from the first quarter of FY 20.
