Tata Motors wholesales down 9% in February

The global wholesales of Tata Motors Group, including Jaguar Land Rover, declined 9% in February this year. The group sold 1,10,262 units of vehicles last month, Tata Motors said in a statement.

Global wholesales of all Tata Motors’ commercial vehicles and Tata Daewoo range in February this year were at 84, 512 numbers, lower by 9% over the corresponding month last year, it said.

Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) recorded global wholesales of 49,695 vehicles, which included 14,926 Jaguar vehicles and 34,769 Land Rover vehicles.

“Global wholesales of all passenger vehicles in February 2019 were at 67,964, lower by 9%, compared to February 2018”, the statement said.

The JLR numbers for February 2019 includes 2,561 units sold by CJLR, a joint venture between JLR and Chery Automobiles in China and is an unconsolidated subsidiary for JLR.

Last week, Tata Motors announced India retail sales numbers for February, which showed a 3% decline, due largely to softness in the commercial vehicle category.
