Hospital group Max India said it has sold 200 out of the 340 apartments coming up at Noida Sector 150 dedicated to seniors.
The Antara Noida project, which was launched last year, will be ready for possession in 2024.
This is the second such dedicated living quarters designed for elders created by the company, with the first one located in Dehradun.
The apartments are designed for people over 50 years of age, and will boast of amenities like panic alarm buttons, round-the-clock medical assistance, emergency response systems, an all-day restaurant with personalized, nutritionally curated special meals, recreational spaces, a wellness zone, and an indoor heated swimming pool.
On offer are two and three-bedroom units ranging from 1,475 sq ft 3,014 sq ft constructed in three different layouts in three towers.
The apartments will also ensure easy access to health facilities, doctors and nurses and will be available on a 90-year direct lease under NOIDA authority and cost between Rs 1.15 crore and Rs 2.35 crore.
The Antara facilities are among the rare seniors-focused living complexes in India, a country where people tend to prefer to live with the elder parents in large joint families.
Such facilities are quite common in countries like the US, where culture and tradition demand that children who achieve majority strike out on their own and move out of their parents homes, leaving the parents to live out their old age on their own.
The Noida project is Max India’s second such facility, with the first one located started in Dehradun in 2013. The Dehradun project is made over a more relaxed layout and comprises 200 living units spread across 14 acres.
The company said it plans many more such facilities targeting seniors, encouraged by the response so far.
“The rousing response towards Antara Dehradun inspired Antara to expand its offerings and launch more communities, starting with the one in Noida,” Max India said.
In addition, it also plans to set up ‘assisted care centers’, which are more similar to care homes of the US, with plans to set up a chain of 35-40 Care Homes in the next three years, said the hospital chain.
Max India said there is a higher demand for such facilities in the context of the increased risk faced by elders from the pandemic.
“We saw an increase in customer inquiries followed by quicker closures at Antara Noida, post the second wave. This was majorly driven by the seniors, who began looking for organized and specialized living spaces,” it said.
