SpiceJet, India’s fastest-growing airline, said it will offer a discount of up to 30% on its base fares to registered healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses and paramedics.
Base fare excludes items like airport usage charges, taxes and so on. The offer is applicable for bookings and travel until 30 September, 2021.
“To avail the benefits of the offer, eligible passengers must visit the SpiceJet website (www.spicejet.com) and select the ‘Healthcare professional fare’ on the homepage.
“Passengers need to submit a valid Healthcare professional ID / Registration number as issued by a Government body such as Medical Council of India (MCI), State Medical Council or Indian Nursing Council (INC) or government-approved healthcare organisation for which the healthcare professional works, while making the booking,” the airline said today.
They will have to show the ID used for bookings along with government-issued photo ID at the time of check-in and boarding as a proof of their identity.
In case of failure to produce the relevant ID(s) at the check-in counter / boarding gate, applicable charges/fees will have to be paid by the passenger to avoid boarding being denied, SpiceJet said.
The discounted fare is valid for all one-way and round trip domestic direct bookings for healthcare professionals only and cannot be availed by their friends, family or relatives.
The offer comes in the wake of a debilitating second wave of COVID-19 in India that has claimed thousands of lives every day.
Hundreds of doctors have lost their lives fighting the pandemic, in addition to hundreds or even thousands of nurses and paramedics.
SpiceJet said the offer a token of its appreciation of their “relentless and selfless service”.
Passengers will not be able to club this offer with any other scheme/offer/discount/promotion etc. available at the time of booking. The offer has limited inventory and will be offered on a first-come-first-serve basis, the airline said.
